The iconic and international photographic cooperative is owned by its photographer members. For more than 70 years, Magnum has represents some of the world’s most prominent photographers and continues to be an authentic storytelling photographic brand. As Henri Cartier Bresson says "Magnum is a community of thought, a shared human quality, a curiosity about what is going on in the world, a respect for what is going on and a desire to transcribe it visually".
Elliott Erwitt is a French-born American advertising and documentary photographer known for his black-and-white candid photos. Erwitt is a big defender of spontaneous photography and absurd situations within everyday settings. Erwitt also had a keen eye for the "real" city of Paris beyond the tourist clichés. He frequently photographed dogs in his career, they are the subject of five of his books.
"You can find pictures anywhere. It's simply a matter of noticing things".
